The difference is that Bush was a real President, Obama is not. He is definitely a pretender in way over his head! You know it and most of the U.S. population is beginning to realize it. He hasn’t a clue even though he apparently is a nice guy.

As far as Air Force One’s cost, what is your opinion on Bush’s 77 trips to and from Crawford TX at the cost you quoted (plus $7000 per hour for the C-17 which accomanied AF1 to carry Marine One and limos)? Or the ost of the 150+ trips to and from Camp David using the usual complient of three to five heicopters (extra ones for security reasns)?

I don’t know the particulars of Obama’ trip to VA but I would suspect that he continued on elsewhere. By the way, Secret Service requirements prevent the Pesident from travelling by motorcade more than a few miles in and around DC.

Thank you Mike. About flying two planes each time a President travels, I think I heard that years ago but never thought about it writing this article. Are you sure? I have to check that out–obviously, if you are correct, the numbers are way off and all the more ridiculous that Obama used Air Force One in the subject instance. By the way, with all of his bailout and budget campaigning together with many television appearances, when does this guy get any work done? Glad to find your article, I have been touting the same thing since that night, “thanks for giving me the opportunity to use Air Force One”, or play with his new toy! I have a friend who works at Kingsmill resort who told me every other presiden just landed Marine one on the property. Think about this, the time it took to leave the White House, board Marine One, land at Andrews and board Air Force One he could have already been landing on the property at Kingsmill. I believe your numbers have to be way off. Consider they put two 757′s in the air every time the president flies (one is a decoy) they must fly his motorcade in as well! Don’t know that we can get the true cost but 30K isn’t the tip of the iceberg.
